Dear Esteemed Members,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as the President of our beloved association. It is a responsibility I will not take lightly, and I will do my best.

First and foremost, I would like to thank the immediate past President, Dr William Lim, for his leadership and driving many new initiatives within the association. One such initiative is the Resident Endowment Fund for Education and Research, which aims to provide financial support to residents for their suitable extra-curricular educational or research activities. This provides additional resources to our budding young OMS surgeons. I hope to continue this initiative to help the residents and encourage members to donate to this meaningful cause.

I would also like to thank my executive committee members for selflessly volunteering their time in managing the association's matters, despite their busy schedules. It would be impossible to keep the association running without their valuable contributions, and it is my privilege to work with them.

As we know, it is a challenge to keep the association relevant to our members in the current times. It is not a unique problem to AOMSS, as many professional associations also face the same issue. However, I hope to keep the association active and relevant to our members by organizing worthwhile educational and social activities where our members can gain knowledge, have fun and bond as a community. Please follow our social media accounts and keep a lookout for such events, which will be publicized through them. I hope our members will actively support and make time to join in.

To our new residents and members who have just joined - a very warm welcome to our family! For OMS surgeons who are not members yet, do consider joining us soon! We pledge to make the association a welcoming place for all members. There is indeed strength in numbers, and only with a tight-knitted OMS community, can we forward the association's mission.

Our association looks forward to building strong ties and long-lasting friendships with other national, regional, and international OMS associations. We are honored that IAOMS has selected Singapore as a location for their ICOMS in 2025. Our committee will strive to facilitate the IAOMS and their PCO in making this event a success. Members can look forward to this exciting international event gracing our shores.

Lastly, I would like to sincerely thank all members for their continued and unwavering support of the association.

Best Regards,

Dr Adrian Shi
