I am truly humbled to have been bestowed this honour of serving our Association as its President and will certainly strive to do my best.
I would like to thank our immediate past president, Dr. Adrian Shi for his leadership and initiatives. Most notably, Dr. Shi and his team have organized several courses over the course of his term, endowing our members with some much-needed Continuing Dental Education (CDE) points as well as fattening our coffers. We have also enjoyed several social events during his leadership, fostering closer relationships among our members. These are initiatives that I will strive to continue.
I would also like to thank all our executive committee members, both past and present, for selflessly offering their time and expertise to build AOMSS into an organization of regional, if not international, standing. Our association would not be what it is today without the foundation laid by our predecessors, and we are truly fortunate to be standing on the shoulders of giants. AOMSS has always looked inward – considering how we can build our OMS committee within Singapore. We have several initiatives ongoing, such as the REFER fund which aims to financially aid our Residents in their (legitimate) learning adventures. We would like to involve more of our members in these efforts.
To assist in information dissemination, we have started a new WhatsApp Community group for our association, which will make it easier for you, our members, to keep abreast of the happenings in our Association. We encourage you to scan the QR code below and join us if you have not already.
This is a unique year for us, as Singapore is about to turn 60, our country has also been honoured to host ICOMS 2025. Unlike ACOMS in 2021, our association will not be the organizers for this event. However, the ICOMS president is our past president and esteemed member, Prof. Raymond Wong. Knowing him, I am confident that this event will not only be a great success but will also incorporate elements true to our nation, benefiting everyone who attends. I would encourage all our members to participate and enjoy this event together!
