President's Message

Dear Members and Friends,
I would first like to thank all our members for their support for the Association over the years. It is this unwavering support that has made the Association strong and resilient even in this trying climate. We appreciate your presence and will strive to serve each and every member.
A very warm welcome is extended to our new members, thank you for joining our big family. The Association is a venue for fellowship and making new acquaintances. We will continue to do our absolute best to make you feel at home.
For those that are still not a member, hesitate no more! Join us and be involved in our Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons fraternity. Only with a tightly knitted community can we keep forwarding the cause of the Association. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
After our 29th Annual General Meeting on 29th January 2021, a new team was elected comprising many fresh faces. The team might be young, but I know each individual will bring with them new perspectives to progress the Association and benefit our members. At this point, we would like to thank our immediate past president Dr Eric Lye for his patience and guidance in the effort to cultivate and groom the younger members. The new team will strive to uphold the tradition of education and fellowship of the local community and creating unyielding bonds with our international friends.
The past term had been a turbulent one, with the pandemic disrupting almost all our scheduled programs. I am sure everyone is aware of the postponement of the 14th Asian Congress on Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (ACOMS). The Congress has gone virtual and will be held on 4th-6th June 2021. The organizing committee is working tirelessly to respond to the changes, and they are determined to bring this world-class scientific experience to the comfort of your own homes. Please do support their efforts and their cause by taking part in this event. More information can be found at the congress website www.acoms2020.sg.
To our local members, we will continue to engage and provide opportunities to further the field of OMS. The team will curate a series of conferences and webinars which will pique your interest. We patiently await the silver lining to revive our Botulinum Toxin Injection Workshop, seminars and social events especially with our upcoming 30th Annual General Meeting. Above all, we are keen to know how we can better serve and help so feel free to reach out to the team.
In these uncertain times, the AOMSS committee 2021/22 will be undaunted and stand by our Mission Statement to nurture a good environment for all our members.
Warmest Greetings
Dr William Lim
President, Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Singapore
